find at least one thing each day that makes me happy

Today is the last day I’m going to do this goal but not the last day I’m going to find things that make me happy. I like doing this and I’m glad that even on bad days I can think of things that are possitive and that bring me comfort.

It’s earrrrrrly still but already making me happy is all of the birthday wishes I got yesterday, the little duffelbag and piles of things to pack that are around my apartment, and the little butterflies that are flitting around my tummy right now. I always get so excited to see my cousins and my family and I’m so so SO grateful and elated for the chance to have a break from working all the time. I think its well deserved.

Today will be full of happiness but I knew I might not get another chance to write it down so here it is! And, I’m going to call this goal officially accomplished!

It’s only 9:06AM and I already know what I want to write:

(1) It’s my BIRTHDAY!!! I’m 23 =) How exciting!

(2) My mentor is taking me to a restaurant called Adagia. I looked it up online (fairly mixed reviews). It’s BEAUTIFUL!

(3) About a billion people have said Happy Birthday to me (and by a billion I mean like 5-10). I love birthdays!

=) It’s going to be a great day today. And then tomorrow after work we’re having a goodbye dinner for a coworker and then I go to Mexico! I love being happy and excited about things!!

I bought daisies the other day for my office. They started wilting right away but they still look marvelous and make me feel a little bit more comfortable and cozy in my office. One of the men who I work with complimented my fish today (I have foam fish on my window). He also told me about a cute breakfast restaurant that I should check out that puts big paper fish up sometimes.

So, far (and I’ve only been up for about two hours) I can say what has made me happy is without a doubt the little feeling I get on somedays that says “this is going to be a good day.” Plus, I made my coffee just right today, which is a rarity considering how much of a zombie I am in the morning usually.

And, good dreams. I had the sweetest dreams last night. It would have been nice to stay in them but I’m quite content to be living my life today too. =)

(1) My boss being out of the office all week!

(2) I made fake fish (colorful foam covered styrafoam with feathers and tule) for my office window. Everyone at work loved them.

(3) The Heroes season premiere!

(4) And now…. going to bed before 10:30PM which I haven’t done in months!

I bought some little things to decorate my kitchen and set them out after work today. They look so nice and it gives me a little feeling of calm to walk in there now and see the stuff (salt and pepper shakers, candle holder, and a scented wax melter thing…)

I’m one day closer to going to see my family in Mexico!

Today I went back to my favorite coffee shop after not going last weekend. The morning crew on Saturday knows me and they all said hi and chatted with me for a little bit. It was a great way to start the day.

I’ve started my Christmas cards and am experimenting with different layouts and designs.

I’m good at doing this on good days and pretty lousy at doing it on bad days. I think if I can commit to doing this every day for the next week then I can say that I’ve done it succesfully. I already think about it consistently even when I don’t submit entries on here (hence the catching up stuff) so, I think by next week I’ll have committed a good pattern to my heart.

We had a potluck at work. That made me really happy.

I forgot to write this one:

I made cookies on Tuesday. From scratch. I hate making things from box mixes but because I didn’t have ample kitchen supplies I couldn’t do anything but that. Tuesday I finally had everything it took to make Chocolate Chip Cookies and so I did!
