watch more movies

I watched seven movies (that I wanted/had planned to watch) since my last entry. Brother Bear, Bambi, Tron, This Is Spinal Tap, American Pie, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny.

Brother Bear was okay—I’ve seen better Disney movies.

Bambi was better than I expected—kiddy at the beginning though.

Tron had great visual effects (for the time) but the story wasn’t very engaging.

This Is Spinal Tap was pretty good—more of a satire than I comedy.

American Pie was alright—decent enough teen movie.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit was worse than I expected. The visuals were good (it really looked like the Toons were part of/interacting with the live-action world) but the story was nothing special. Roger Rabbit was too annoying for me to care about him.

Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny was good. The story was so-so but the music was good.

That’s seven movies I can cross off my list.

I watched Iron Man and Forgetting Sarah Marshall recently.

Iron Man had some impressive CGI but the story never really sucked me in. The final fight wasn’t that epic either. The movie was above average compared to other superhero movies like Fantastic Four and Hulk though.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall was quite enjoyable. There were some quite amusing moments.

That’s two more movies I can cross off my list.

There are plenty of movies out there that I want to watch. I even have a list of movies that I want to watch—most of them because they’re rated highly on metacritic or imdb (The Godfather, Pulp Fiction), others because everyone else has seen them (300). I just have to make the trip to the video store and rent some movies for a weekend.
