Nick Douglas has written 2 entries about this goal
- 10 Things I Hate About You. Pretty clever.
- The Phantom of the Opera. Disappointing but a technical masterpiece.
- The Aviator. Fantastic. One of my favorites.
- American Beauty. In my top 10 ever.
- Boogie Nights. Also in my top 10.
- Shaun of the Dead. Clever, but seemed too short.
- Matchstick Men. Clever. Nicholas Cage is growing on me.
- The Life Aquatic. Not Anderson’s best, but charming.
- De-Lovely. Wish it would go more in depth. Gorgeous, and superb cinematography.
- Jerry McGuire. Clever, if occasionally cheesy. Tom Cruise is growing on me too.
- Bad Education (Mala Educacion). Raunchy, bold, beautiful.
- Mystic River. Cool, but a bit stilted. Shows rough edges from its original book form.
- Sideways. Grand. Love the play b/w the two main characters; plan on reading the book.
- The Bank (a Charlie Chaplin movie, 24 min). Cute.
- Closer (second viewing). In my all-time top 10.
- Maria Full of Grace. Main character is a vision, a goddess. I want her.
- Garden State. Clever, sometimes fresh but sometimes terribly sappy. Hipster movie.
- Magnolia. One of my top 5 now. Feckin’ amazing.
- Kiss the Girls. Pretty good. Not my genre, but I liked it.
- The Terminal. Fantastic. Golden. Dripping with beauty. Tom Hanks is like unto a god.
- Million Dollar Baby. Moving.
- The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Disappointing script, where half the jokes don’t reach their punchlines, but amazing vision, fulfilling my imagination, and a perfect setup for a superior sequel – think Spiderman 2 and X-men 2.
