Getting there...slowly 4 months ago

So, I’ve been working on this on for quit some time now and it’s only now that I feel like I’m getting the hang of things. I get easily distracted in the morning so I don’t watch tv in the morning until I’m dressed, prayed, bag at the door, hair world ready—I might catch a bit of NY1. Otherwise the 1st 1/2 hour is silent so that I can move from one task to the other without stopping to watch an interesting report. A little music in the background and notes to remind me of what my next step in my “getting to work on time” plan helps a lot. I woke up a little late today and still got to work on time today. This has been the case for a few weeks now. This is such a big issue for me that I’m reluctant to say I’ve mastered this challenge. I think that this is something that I’ll be working on forever…

I'm not ready to give up yet 7 months ago

So getting up and out of the house on time in order to get to work on time has not been very successful. Only today after 3 weeks of failure did I realize something. The way I set this goal was just unrealistic. My plan was to get up at 6 every morning to go for a run. But I’m not, nor have I ever been a morning person. I’d set my clock of 6am before hitting the sack and every morning I’d hit the snooze button over and over again. I think I’m going to cut myself some slack and get up @ 7am (which leaves plenty of time) and go to the gym in the evening after work. I’m going to give this goal one more week before I throw in the towel.

I'm sick of my lack of structure 8 months ago

I relieved to see that other people are struggling with the same need to create structure and order—Yea…I’m not alone. I would love to take care of myself better and I think creating a sound routine both for going to bed (relaxing, getting enough rest etc) and then waking up on time (thus getting more s done) will up the quality of my life. Of course that’s all just a theory for now. we shall see. I’m leaving work on time to get home and create some physical order in my home, my hope is that it will spill over into making my routine easier to maintain. Again, we shall see.
