On this second and last day of training, the wind was much better and conditions were in general favourable. There was much more emphasis on sailing and less on theory.
They say there are two kinds of dinghy sailors, those who have capsized, and those who will. Just to make sure I’m of the first kind, I capsized our Dolphin twice! But hey, I’ve learned to sail!

The first day of training is finished. I spent some time crewing and skippering a Dolphin. There was not much wind, though we did have a few periods with real sailing.

I’ve told my department that I won’t be available to drive students anywhere on the date for my sailing training. I’m putting sailing before my “job”!

Now the department has gone and organized a visit to an industrial plant for students on my sailing date. I promised that I would drive a car, but they didn’t have a date at the time. It seems that I may have to make a decision here.

This is my dinghy. It will be a sailing dinghy one day, but for the moment it can only be rowed. It’s been fun, so far.
