Despite fears that my writing would be ruined by NaNoWriMo, I find that it has actually improved. I have a much better sense of what makes a sentence, and my writing is much less cryptic and choppy, I think. I don’t think my grammar or spelling suffered at all.

I just gave up the pretense of working for the afternoon, and banged it out. The story ended on time.
It felt a bit odd, ending. It felt sad, and I didn’t want to stop. I actually deleted a bit of unnecessary text to get me further away from the finishing line!
I’m now sitting at a TGIO!

With a little bit of luck I’ll be verifying my latest novel’s word count at tonight’s write-in/TGIO party!
I have less than 1.5k left to write. That’s what I do in the mornings before work! I’m giving up my lunchtime gym today to write.

Instead of writing last night, I did the social thing. Fortunately I recouped some of the losses this morning. Still, I had hoped to get ahead.
All the purple bars are a great inspiration!
I’ve lost my internet access at work temporarily, and it won’t be back before December! So it seems that I’ll be needing to verify my wordcount from internet cafes or something.

By dint of great support I ended today with almost two thousand five hundred words. I won’t say it was easy: at the worst point I was practically writing a word and then checking word count, just to make sure that I was making progress.
I’m in the middle of a rather distasteful scene sequence, but I suppose one can’t really have a mystery without crime.

By dint of great effort I have so far today produced 300 words.

In an available hour I got another few hundred words done, and that put me over the 40k mark. (Only just, 40086 to be exact.)
I did not know where to take the story next, so I had my hero wonder out aloud. So now I have more words and a new direction for my story.

Doesn’t work and social life just interfere with NaNoWrimo? I haven’t written anything yesterday, and I quite possibly won’t get to write anything until the weekend. Fortunately I’m a little ahead, so every little bit that I do adds a lot to reaching the day’s target.
Tomorrow I have a work-related deadline coming up. As a just reward I will spend less time at work and more at NaNoWriMo.
I feel a bit guitly for not using the odd half hour to push out another 300 or so, but the stress is really getting to me.

The story is heading for the climax. I don’t know how it’s going to get there or what’s going to happen yet, but things seem to work out, usually.
I’m a bit apprensive that I won’t have enough story for the 13000 words left, but I’m also pretty happy that I won’t be at 50k with half my story left.
I won’t say the story is flowing at this point. It’s more like toothpaste. But, like tootpaste, as long as one squeezes it comes out.

In total I did about 6 900 words this weekend. That’s a lot. It gave me a good boost, and I am now pretty certain I can finish. I now stand at 36k, and the story seems to have enough beef to carry it through.
My way of sitting while writing is now starting to cause me pain.
