... for being able to share a tiny portion of my career with that of a great man.

... for seeing all my friends and colleagues from a few years ago.

... for an adventurous weekend.

... that I could afford this weekend.

... for uninterrupted time to catch up with sleep.

It is Monday, and this week I am grateful …

... that I had to do the marking over the weekend. It means more of the week is for me.

... that I figured out that I could use a redirect to make a temporary but useable website using the same URL. Now I can put the URL out in print without having to worry about what’s there.

... that I could arrive to a reasonably tidy desk today.

... for a start to a publication.

... for being outside for a lovely sunset yesterday and today.

It is Friday, and this week I am grateful …

... that I had been prepared properly for this week’s non-research activities.

... that I got to Opera again. Chrome’s not bad, but it’s not home.

... for N’s very successful exhibition today.

... for a fun-filled Toastmasters meeting on Wednesday.

... for the new office arrangement.

It is Wednesday, and I am grateful …

... that the technicians are looking at our network connection.

... for a quick and easy exec meeting, and that I had something sensible to say.

... that most of my friends are happy with the US election results.

... for my trusty car.

... that tomorrow is another day.

I have not been writing here very often lately, because I think I should rather spend my precious 43T times on my un-done goals. But it is Sunday, and I am grateful …

... for my improved bookkeeping skills.

... for the opportunity for some mild exercise, and the front lawn looks the better for it.

... for my choice of table at Friday’s awards dinner. Interesting conversation with wonderful people.

... for a partnership at the market. It’s fun having N there!

... for the beautiful weather.

It is Thursday, and I am grateful …

... for a successful repair, great catch-up talk and some business done.

... that I didn’t need a nap today.

... that the Kadett boot cover found a good home.

... that I discovered the Miro media player.

... for a productive afternoon.

It is Tuesday, and I am grateful …

... that despite my unproductivity I solved the problem for today.

... that it’s raining. Apart from the rain, I’m getting some time to watch TED talks.

... that did not get exhausted today. Enough sleep and an easy day. It feels wonderful!

... for a chance to meet with friends that are good people.

... that today was the last day of teaching for the semester for me.

... that I had a long enough break for a re-energizing sleep.

... that it’s movie night!

... that G could give me a lift to pick up my dad’s car.

... that despite the crazy day, I could put a dent in the pile of papers to be marked.
