notice beauty

Went down to the coast this afternoon – and what a day it was! Absolutely gorgeous weather! I think everything about the seaside is beautiful: the way the sand lies in ripples while the tide is out; the cry of the seagull overhead; the pebbles and shells; the sea-worn groynes hung with algae and sea weed; the dazzling sparkle of the sun on the waves; and possibly best of all – the smell of the sea! I forgot my camera but fortunately my mum didn’t mind too much when I commandeered hers :)

Took this picture on the way to the train station the other morning. It amazes me how simple grass can look so magnificent – it’s really brought home to me that the beauty’s there, you just have to look out for it. I love this so much because it reminds me of waves or a river, the way the grass is rippling :)

This is a photo I took on Easter Sunday 2007 at a National Trust house and gardens. I thought this tree was so beautiful, all out in snowy white blossoms and I love that light, fresh green of the new spring leaves. It was so warm and the sky was so blue, even though it was only April! But then we have just had the hottest April on record here in England.
