The Man With The Iron Fist

Not exactly an old Kung Fu movie, but very much inspired by old Kung Fu movies, The Man With The Iron Fist is a love letter to all of the old Kung Fu movies. It features the directing of RZA and a stand out performance by Russell Crowe. Cung Le and Lucy Liu do a great job as well. Nice movie, especially if you like Quentin Tarantino style films.

Heroes Of The East 中華丈夫

Heroes Of The East starring Gordon Liu and was directed by Lau Kar-Leung, is an amazing film for many reasons. One, it was one of the first films to pit Kung Fu vs Karate with dignity, without making the Japanese out to be mindless monsters. Second, it featured many Chinese weapons vs Japanese weapons, showcasing each of their beauty and strengths. One of my favorite Kung Fu movies of all time!

Yes, Madam 皇家師姐 AKA: Police Assassins

A classic east meets west cop duo team up, except the two cops happen to be female. Starring the amazing Michelle Yeoh and Cynthia Rothrock, this movie is well worth the watch. One of my favorite Rothrock early films, and its available on Youtube for free!

Films of Fury

Awesome Kung Fu documentary directed by Andrew Corvey and Andrew W. Robinson. Very funny and informative, it goes back to the early days of Kung Fu Cinema and brings you up to the present. As a Kung Fu geek it was great to see the classics I knew and was surprised to find out a lot of new information as well. Can’t recommend it enough, and its free on Netflix Streaming! Noah
