8 lbs gone - 22 to go  — 1 year ago

Working out religiously and eating clean is starting to pay off.

Set a new baseline last week  — 1 year ago

Joined the “Boot Camp” at Ultimate Bodybuilding, near my home. Did my first weigh-in last week. One week later I’m down 6 poounds. Not a huge amount, but I’m feeling pretty good about it.

Ok - I"m going to cheat a little  — 1 year ago

Not that kind of cheating. I’m going to do an ‘extreme diet’ for a while, as a kick start, even though I KNOW that I should just be eating better and exercising.

I’ve had a lingering cough for more than 6 weeks from spring allergies, and my early diet efforts have only been so-so. So I’m going to start by doing the Master Cleanse (new entry on my list) for 10 days, since it looks like this is one of the few times when I won’t be traveling for 2 solid weeks. Take advantage now.

This week - not so good  — 1 year ago

1.5 pounds lost today. I’m changing my weigh-in day to Fridays, so I can have that weekend cheat day. Really diet hard next week, and avoid the temptations to cheat – although I imagine tomorrow will not be a good day – Mother’s Day and all

First weekly update on my Diet shirt. - 6lbs  — 1 year ago

I can proudly say I lost 6 lbs. I know the first week you always lose a lot, but I’m happy with it none-the-less. I wasn’t perfect on the diet (not even close) put I was pretty consistent and all the cardio must be helping.

Getting back to it  — 1 year ago

I’ve already started my diet and walking this week. It’s going pretty well. Today I went down and joined 24 hour fitness, so I can work out at home and on the road – mostly for the Cardio machines, looking for low impact for my knees. They’re building a new one only a mile or so from my house which is supposed to be open in September. For now I have a 8 mile drive each way.

Also made up my 30 lb Diet T-shirts. Wear ‘em and update ‘em on a weekly basis. The shirt shows my planned progress – and with a colored fabric marker I can update the graph with my actual progress. I’m trying to lose the 30 lbs before my next Birthday, July 23rd. I’ve got my work cut out for me…

Ok - I fell off the wagon  — 1 year ago

But I’m starting again. Goal is still 30 lbs. After that’s done, if I feel I need to lose more, I’ll just create a new goal.

Main plan is:
  1. Exercise with weights 3 x week
  2. Couch to 5K walking/running plan
  3. 5 meals a day, quality eating program (as previously stated)
  4. Basic Supplmentation
Well this isn't going well...  — 1 year ago

Now I have to lose 40 lbs, just to lose those original 30!!

Time to get back on track.

Of course if I spent one third of the time that I spend on the internet on a treadmill, I’d be the Marathon man, and skinny as a rail!

The last weeks has been a bit of a disaster  — 1 year ago

Ended up in Stockholm at the last minute, and ate way too much, on expense account, and taking the local team to lunch and dinner. Plus the drinks at the Ice bar, and the Smorgasbord at the Grand Hotel did not help at all.

Ouch. Time to get back on that wagon. My wife is doing weight-watchers again, and has knocked off almost 7 pounds in the last 3 weeks. I need to do some catching up!

Setup a Fitday account  — 1 year ago

to track all diet and exercise. Gave my daughter the “trainer” control, and she interviewed me and put in all the data. Hard time eating enough protein, and didn’t eat quite enough calories. Still not a bad day.
