Got lazy over the winter 21 months ago

Didn’t hardly break the bike out at all during the last 6 months. Too much time doing spin training in my exercise bootcamp probably didn’t help.

Cleaned up the bike this week, and got out on it twice. Somehow in the last several months I broke the wire to my cycling computer. Need to get that fixed.

Starting Monday, I’m back to riding daily if at all possible. Not feeling real ‘hard-core’ yet, so I may let bad weather deter me. I probably should sign up for some cycling event to force myself to rise to the occasion. The “Hotter than Hell 100” comes to mind…

Another long term goal, with no definite date in mind. I think something like BRAG or RAGBRAI would be a good warmup.

Goal: Discuss with family doing BAK/BRAG/RAGBRAI next year, sometime this week.

I've even been riding it 3 years ago

Rode the bike every day but one since I’ve bought it (and been in town). Nice hour long bike ride today, but I need to get the pace up. So far only averaging about 11 MPH, would like to see that number up around 14-15 for 2 hours.

Woo hoo! A new bike.. 3 years ago

Bought a new recumbent today – from Richardson Bike Mart here in Dallas. Tested a few, and really liked the feel of the EZ Speedster, a short-wheel base recumbent. I’m going to try to put in at least 1/2 an hour a day for the next couple of weeks to get back in the groove. I’m also going to try to get some 2-3 hour rides in on the weekends if I really expect to survive the MS 150.

Got in 30 minutes today, but it was broken up tweaking the bike configuration.

Zero miles to 150 in 4 weeks might be a little ambititious. Oh, well, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Haven’t done much biking lately. I used to ride just stupid distances. So to bet back on track….

Signed up for the MS 150.

Multiple Sclerosis benefit tour, from Dallas to Ft. Worth, via N. Denton. It’s in just 4 weeks, so I better start putting some miles on the bike, and some calluses on the b*tt.
