My progress here hasn’t been as good as I’d like, especially because I want to be eating a lot of protein as I work out. I need to add more nuts to my diet for that purpose, as well as sticking to around 4 eggs a week. Cottage cheese is good for the protein as well, but I’m trying to cut back on cheese intake, wanting to stick to one serving per day. (I do love it _) Anyway, my grandparents are gone for a little over a week, and we don’t have any lunch meat but that’s a good thing. I want to add variety to my meals, I need to stop doing this constant cereal for breakfast, lunch meat for lunch. I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do yet but I’ll figure something out. Also, beans are great for protein as well as the fact that they have a lot of fiber, which I’ve been trying to get a lot more of :)

I have still been eating meat but I do try to keep my portions in check. I don’t think this goal will really come to fruition until I have a job and am able to afford buying more of my own food, as well as having figured out how to make a variety of excellent meals without meat. I think cutting portions for now is a good start and I am tending to avoid the red meat as much as possible and stick to turkey and chicken.
My grandma made an absolutely delicious dinner _ Salad, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and peppered pork loin. However, when I was getting my meat, I was tempted to take two pieces but I rethought my choice and ended up only take one halo above head
I was reading a pamphlet about vegetarianism and the problems which meat eat contribute to, such as heart disease. I don’t think that I want to cut it out of my diet completely because it’s so damn good but I think moderation is the key to most things in life, so I’d like to cut down on the amount I eat because it’s a part of most of the meals that I eat. I know there are plenty of meatless dishes that I absolutely love and so I don’t think the transition will be terribly difficult and I can do it at whatever pace I feel comfortable with. I’m not going to dive in head first but would like to read some more literature on the benefits and how to maintain a healthy, balanced diet without the protein and other things provided by meat. I’ve already been trying to cut down and focus more on the fruits and veggies. I just had dinner and I was about to get some popcorn chicken or polish sausage, but I took another look at the menu and saw a cheese tortellini dish and I thought “Why not? still tasty and without the meat.” So I did _
