Well, I am from New York and my ancestry is Italian – so know where I am coming from with this review. My husband and I ordered…

“The Vesuvius $13.25&up
Fresh Basil-Walnut pesto, mozzarella, Fontina and Ricotta cheeses, Prosciutto ham and roasted red peppers. Incredible!”

My first mistake was ordering a specialty pizza. In order to compare, I would have been better off trying a regular cheese pie. The pizza was not bad. However, I don’t think it is close to being the best in Seattle or the Eastside. I still like NY Pizza (formally Piecora’s) in the Bridle Trails Shopping Center in Kirkland, WA. One of my favorites in Westchester County – NY is Dunwoodie Pizza in the Dunwoodie section of Yonkers, NY.

I would try Frankie’s again because my experience wasn’t bad. I haven’t found any Italian restaurant worthy of eating at in Seattle with exception to Salumi in Pioneer Square (Seattle). Of course, salumi is not your normal sit down restaurant. It’s a hole in the wall owned by the father of famed chef Mario Batali.

Definately the best Mexican food I have had while living in the Northwest. A tad bit salty is my only complaint. I love the beef fajitas!

I became addicted to Gyro’s in Sweden (yes, you read right). They call them Kebabs and I must say they use this sauce that I have yet to find again.

So, I was on a quest to find a great Gyro in the Seattle Metro. I found it!

I went to Santorini’s yesterday evening and had the Gyro Plate. A mound of lamb, rice, salad, tzatziki and pita will keep anyone satisfied all for eight and change. I was very impressed with the salad. Afterwards, I took a walk down to Marina Park to enjoy the sunset. i will definately visit this restaurant again. Note – this is not a fancy place but the food is great and the service friendly.
