I feel kind of bad about this one. Living in Houston and planning to spend most of my life in the South means that Spanish would probably be the best language for me to learn because, well, I could reap the benefits from that almost immediately and get practice listening to it spoken from native speakers by just getting on the bus… but…
I’m more into the idea of learning French. So I bought some French software and some secondhand books that I’m going to use until I can afford something better. I figured it’d be easier to learn something that I want to learn than it would be to learn something because it’s the best choice. Plus, you know, I can always get Spanish software in a year or two, after I’ve gotten the French basics down, and work on it then.
