own a home

So we are working at saving as much as possible with an anticipated purchase in 2013.

And I am really having the itch to settle down/commit to the area.

My family (who lives 20+ hours away) will FREAK out. But it’s time for my hubby & I to really make a life together, settled in.

I am not going to give a deadline for this goal, as we want to make sure we choose wisely. But we are starting to search…

Which is sorta crazy, as when I moved to TX I vowed I would NOT purchase a home in the city I am living in.

But I am feeling like this is a step that I might be ready to make. I feel like I am ready to just lay my roots here, as this is where I have been planted.

The lease is up in July 2012… so we shall see what’s in store for us! :)

I feel like I am not “committed” without ownership. Home ownership = settled in, making a life in a certain place, and really being attached to the area.

While the thought of having roots where I am at now is a bit frightening, I think I need to know where I am going to be in 5 years. That way I can buckle in, and enjoy the ride! :D
