This was Tav and I not too long after we got him. I had been sick that day, and he decided that he needed to keep me company and help me to feel better:)

This was my beautiful boy, Tav. His name actually started out as “Charlie”—my dad named him that. Sometimes my mom would call him Charlie Brown. When I got a little older and learned about Charles Dickens, I added that to his name, too. Growing up, I seemed to be obsessed with oldies music, and since I fell in love with the Beatles, Starkey Harrison McCartney Taro Ono Lennon got added, too, lol. So how did his name get to be Tav? My brother and I were goofing around one day, speaking with funny accents. I said something about Charlie, and it came out Tavouch. It was sooo funny at the time, and it just ended up sticking:) I think it was meant to be:) After all, he was my cat, so I should’ve been the one to name him, right?!
My parents spent the last of our vacation money to buy him for me, lol. I think my life would be so different if they hadn’t done that! I was 5 then. We packed up and headed back home to MD (from OH) and surprised my big brother when we got there:) Tav was my sweet kitty and best friend for 17 years! We grew up together:) I don’t remember if I said this here or not (I know I have on other goals) but Tav was with me until a few days after my husband proposed to me, and then he passed away.
Tav had a definite attitude! He wasn’t a people cat, lol! But he did like my hubby:) He would even sit on his lap (which was unusual for him to do with strangers!) One thing that I always loved about him was the way he would greet me when I came home. He liked to sit on the back of the reclining chair in the living room, and when I’d come home, I would always go over to him and say hello. Usually I’d kiss him on his ears, and he would stand up and stretch with his arms around my neck and purr and purr…He liked to sit in my arms when I tried to type, which made things difficult at times, lol. He also loved to go outside. He would walk on a leash, although I’d usually have to pick him up and carry him back home:)
Growing up, he was truly my best friend. I miss him sooo much. But I know that if I still had him, I probably wouldn’t have my two sweet kittys now. I still keep a picture of him in our living room, though, so that I can see his beautiful face every day.
“Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful…beautiful boy”
Hi! I’m happy to be a part of this team:) Just ask my husband and he will enthusiastically tell you that I am definitely a crazy cat lover, lol!
As of now we’ve adopted two kitties into our home, Rufus and Freckles. There’s never a dull moment with those two around, that’s for sure! They are the joys of my life:) Hubby says that two is plenty (although if it were up to me, we would have a whole house full!)
Before getting married, I was the proud ‘mom’ of a beautiful apple siamese named Tav. He was with me from the time I was 5 years old up until a few days after my husband proposed to me, and then he passed away (so we were together for about 17 years.) I miss him a lot.
Hope to have some pics posted soon:)
