I like variety... 20 months ago

So when I go to the grocery store, I am excited to buy fresh fruits and veggies. I’ll have a few strawberries or a bowl of salad, and when I go back for more a couple days later, the foods are far from fresh. I feel like I have become very wasteful recently. So my subgoals are:

1) Be very aware of what is in my fridge and when items were purchased. Don’t let things get pushed into the back corner to rot for a month. Keep a list clipped to the outside of the fridge if I have to.

2) If I know I won’t be able to finish certain foods before they expire, freeze all or part. I’ve been doing this with bread, but sometimes it comes out with freezer burn. I wish the store sold half-loaves!

3) Prepare lunch at home to take to school. I have started purchasing food in the cafeteria on a regular basis. I end up double paying because the food I could have been eating for lunch ends up in the garbage can.

4) Stop snacking on carbs. Carbs can last in the pantry for a long time, but fresh foods are only good for a few days.
