For a long time I’ve said Seattle is as close to Hollywood as I’m willing to get. It’s not so much “want to move” as “need to move”, isn’t it? I’m looking to get into the movie biz and apparently this is where that happens.
Three days ago, downing some drinks after a screening of his new movie Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, which lampoons LA in so many ways, Shane Black told me I’ve gotta do it. He’s the third filmmaker this past month who told me that. Then he told some stories about how all women in LA are fake and horrible and the air stinks of desperation.
Can’t wait.
Best thing was, when I asked Shane how he felt, having appeared alongside two (count ‘em, TWO!) former state governors in Predator (plus an unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate), he begged off talking about Ah-nuld. The Governator’s pretty much gone, they just hafta wait until election day to declare that.
