find a unique, cute little travel mascot to take with me on all trips and photograph "him" next to touristy sites wherever i go...(kind of like the traveling gnome).

So a friend got me this Raccoon back when I went to Tennessee this Summer, but I hadn’t traveled much until last month when I took a trip to Chicago. My mind was occupied by other things during most of the trip, but I did get a couple pictures of him in the airports.

This one in particular is the O’Hare airport at around 3am… pretty empty(which I actually thought was kind of cool, since I’ve heard a lot of complaints about how busy it is… people just go at the wrong time of day :P ).

So, I’d somewhat given up on this goal since I don’t have a camera… but someone decided I need a travel companion anyway, and while I was on my way to Tennessee this past weekend, they surprised me with a Raccoon. This raccoon is a webkinz… which I’d never heard of, but apparently they’re all the rage.

Anyway, now I’m trying to decide on a name. The two I’m thinking about right now are either Waldo, since he is partially striped and will be traveling a lot, or Asban which is the name one of the Native American tribes uses for raccoons and literally means “one who lifts up things.”

Let me know what you think or if you have other name ideas I might consider.

Even though I don’t really do much traveling at the moment, I think I will eventually be doing a lot of traveling and think this might be kind of a cool idea. I’m planning a trip to Tennessee this Summer, so maybe I should start looking into this.
