release a CD

Phew …

We recorded L.B. and mixed it and mixed four of the pieces from yesterday. Will need to record a fix for one piece or redo the piece. At times close to my perfect world today.

A good look at the limitations of my playing.

Recorded five pieces today. Good workout. Great to be working with T. again.

After sitting and breakfast we began the process with the end in mind. So far today two pieces have been recorded. Now a short snack break and then prepare for number 3.

WOW. The graphic artist is on to something. I do not think in visual ways but I am grateful for those that do. decisions, decisions.

This evening I pick up my producer/engineer at the train station and we begin the final recording session. Intitial artwork ideas arrived last evening, so all is coming together.

Much has been happening along this goal, just not time to detail it all here.

No guitar practice last night. After my injury last year I need the day of rest.

Rough night sleeping last night. Wondering about going forward with this CD Project. As the release becomes closer to reality and the costs add up I find myself hesitating. I will move forward. I can see this in the light of day. But sometimes in the darkness, ...

Reviewed the two new pieces extensively this evening. I will perform them tomorrow evening at The Field and receive feedback. Also touched the other six pieces briefly.

I am increasingly experimenting with visualization as part of my practice. This allows my wrist and hand to rest and allowd me to see how well I know what I am playing.

Two weeks to go to the final recording session. Some previous material needs to be recoreded again due to technical issues. So I have clarified what of the 5 pieces I have been working with lately are feasible and focus on those three. Then record the previos five that need fixing.

C’est la vie.

I have now sent all recorded audio files to him and had a long discussion. He asked some though questions. Some I had anticipated but actually having to answer them to a person is illuminating.

I began working with what I might want to say about the music. Generally not much because the music can say what needs saying in a way deeper than my words.

The next recording date is coming at the end of september and good guitar work is happening.

A leap into the unknown. Contacted a recommended graphic designer today and sent him audio files to get a sense of the project. Exciting and a bit intimidating. Would be great to have something to visualize as I work towards completing the recordings.
