Funny thing. My mother called me the other day when I was at work and told me that the place at the end of the street I work on had a sign out for hiring data entry people.
I went in on my break. The job is apparently perfect for me. Just sitting around and entering information onto a computer with no customer contact. Unfortunately, the job is an hour away and it starts the same time that H&R starts again in January! So I’m in their records for the future.
After taking my test, the woman expressed disappointment that I wouldn’t be available to work for the company that was asking for data entry workers, since my typing speed is apparently impressive.
Oh, well. At least they have me in their records and I’ve made a good impression.
Also, a call center is opening in Springfield next year, for Red Roof in where people call in and make hotel reservations. I wouldn’t mind doing that either, but they haven’t started hiring because the place isn’t even put together yet. We’ll see what comes up after H&R.
