update my wardrobe

Organized my winter scarves, my belts and ties today. Going to keep going through my closet. The problem is, I need to clear out the front room more before I start boxing up more clothes. Argh! I need to get rid of stuff faster.

Not much has changed since the last time. I’ve bought a few new shirts. Found THE perfect dress for myself which makes me amazingly happy, so now I don’t need to own any other dress or feel bad about how none of the others look good on me.

I’ve been realizing lately that a lot of my shoes are very ill-fitting, so I’ll be clearing those out here shortly. Also, getting rid of a lot of pants.

Still need to go through my closet the next chance I get and clear out even more!

Went shopping with my older friend. I got two new pairs of pants, a new pair of shorts, a new dress shirt, a pair of Vans, (plus a mattress cover and a book), as well as a new hat.

I haven’t been able to find a good pair of blue jeans yet. All the ones that I’ve tried have been too stiff or expensive. I also need to invest in new black dress pants, as well as a pair of khaki and some more casual pants.

Phew. Got an excuse to clear out more clothes at home now.

Went through and tried on all my pants. I really need to acknowledge the fact that I’m a 33-34 and NOT a 32 anymore, and that my length also needs to go up to a 33-34. I’ve got a laundry basket of pants to get rid of.

Moved more of my costume pieces into the downstairs closet, though I need to go through all of the ones in the bathroom and move them to the bedroom.

Took everything out of my closet that I can see myself getting rid of, which is half of my closet. Gonna try everything on and evaluate what to get rid of immediately and what I should hang on to until I get replacements (ie: dress pants for work).

It’s kind of sad to say that I have now removed five boxes of clothes from one of my closets and two clothing racks. I still have the clothes to go through downstairs in my ‘costume’ closet, and then move stuff around so that all my normal clothes can remain in one closet.

Then I have to figure out how the hell to organize stuff so I can stop shoving all of my pants into a giant storage tub.

Also need to get rid of quite a few shoes. I think I’m going to give up on making any money on anything. I’m just going to donate what I can’t give away to my friends. It’s really difficult to get rid of some of these things because I like them, but they’re not items that I will wear.

...I have no idea how in the world I got most of this stuff. I think a majority of it is items that I intended to use for costume purposes, but just never got around to.

I went shopping about a week ago, and picked up more Target clearance.

Grey pajama pants
Converse khaki blazer
Converse khaki pants
Converse grey zipup hoodie

Cost me about $73 even though everything was on clearance, so I won’t be buying any more stuff for a week or so.

This week I went shopping for Target clearance and got the following:

Long sleeved shirts (black, white, dark red, charcoal)
Short sleeved light blue shirt with cool design
Camouflage cargo pants
Scarves (blue, dark red/olive, black/charcoal, charcoal/burgandy)

Also, starting to weed out some of the shoes I don’t want. I have a nice looking pair of off-brand black converse, but no matter how much I wear them, the backs won’t break in. Hurts the back of my ankles a lot after awhile, so I might have to get rid of them and buy a REAL pair.

Boxed up four/five boxes of clothes that I’ve had forever that I’ve never worn. It’s kind of sad to realize I had that much stuff.

Still not done, though! And then it’s on to the shoes.

So I managed to move everything around in my closet. Now I just need to clear out the bottom for my shoes and get all that random crap out of there (that belongs to my parents of course, and hasn’t been touched in ages). Need to hang the rest of the stuff up and take things on/off hangers to get them to face the same way.

Also, need to FREAKING CLEAN OUT THOSE DRAWERS in my dresser. D: Hopefully making progress today.

Going to clear out my closet again, now that it’s been awhile. I managed to get all of my costume pieces out and into the other room, so I can go through that and throw out some of those things later too.

So the plan looks like:

• Take all items from closet and put on floor
• Try everything on and see what to get rid of
• Take inventory of what is left
• Put everything back in closet, organized
• Hang up pants properly so they don’t take up a ton of room
• Try on costume pieces
• Get rid of what doesn’t fit / trash others
• Go through shoes and try all on
• Get rid of what doesn’t fit / what I don’t want anymore
• Go through ties
• Go through belts
• Go through drawers in dresser

Also have a pile of things to give to friends, to have my mother try on to see if she wants, or things I need to take and have altered.

Hopefully I can get through that sometime soon.
