To me, homophobia is about not understanding. I never considered myself homophobic, but I always thought that it couldn’t happen to me. Then within the span of 4 months I found out that 3 of my friends were gay, and I realized that we all encounted homosexual people, wether we know it or not.
To stop homophobia, I want people to try to understand. Meeting someone who is gay or having someone you know come out is probably the best way to change someone’s mind. Then, homosexuality isn’t an abstract concept, it’s real, just like the people around us.
