I had it pretty full. Damn full. 300 pictures from Australia, dozens of albums, the entire collection of Aqua Teen and Venture Bros. episodes, and yeah, some porn. Now it’s gone. So much for a portable DJ collection. I’d loaned it to a hostel volunteer to play Television’s epic “Marquee Moon” over the speakers, and when dear tech ig’nant Laura ejected the poor thing

That’s the sound of iPod hari-kari. My iPod thrust itself on the end of a iTunes 7.0 sword. Eject? Erase? What’s the difference? I told Laura I accepted her apology. Then she apologized, but it’s not her fault. She don’t know no better. It’s the iPod that should be sorry. But hey, now I have a new one. Because once you’ve filled up nearly 30gb without keeping track, it’s hard to fill it up the same way again. And I will. Next time, though, I’ll just crack down and say the damn goal’s finished at 98%. Jeez, I’m not a perfectionist, am I?
