I was at the gym around lunch time and had found a mat right beside the exercise balls,,,, there were all charts on how to use them and i was considering maybe checking one out when I got a tap on my shoulder,,,
“I was here this morning”,,.. the voice said,, I turned around and saw this little guy,, no more than 5 foot 2 with an exercise ball in his hand,,, my immediate instinct was to say “So what,, I’m here now”,,, but then i realised he had down syndrome,, my heart melted
“You want to use it??” I smiled,, “No problem”
His face beamed back at me “Yeah,, use it”,, I took my towel,, “Of course,,.. no problem,, no problem”,... Maybe he was training for the special olympics,,.. I’d say so,,,.. man,,, scenes like that put everything into perspective,, that dude had so much heart,, he’s an example to us all and I’ve nothing but respect for him
