Bank job  — 4 months ago

So…. I’ve got 5 months to wait until I get my old job back teaching English at the University… but, there’s always the option of working in the bank again…. My only problem is that I will have to apply for full time work…. which means they’ll expect a year’s commitment, but I’ll be going back to College in September -- SO --—Yeah….. pretty shitty

Part-time work is hounded by college students – I’ve applied to some bars, but experience is crucial and to be honest, I’m really not so hungry for it….. I don’t need the money as much as I just want something to do with my time….. Maybe my new gym membership will take my mind off finding work for the moment

Cover Letter for Teaching Jobs  — 4 months ago

To Whom It May Concern:

I am a part-time TEFL teacher looking for some teaching work

As you may see from the attached Curriculum Vitae, I have completed a course in English language teaching in Barcelona and recently spent ten weeks teaching a pre-intermediate class in UCD’s Advanced Language Centre in their summer programme. These ten weeks teaching gave me a great insight into the teaching world, providing me with invaluable teaching experience and education in the standard teaching practices needed to conduct a successful lesson in a friendly environment. Following the success of this, I am confident in my ability to improve my students’ speaking, listening, reading or writing skills through group teaching.

Essentially, I would like to continue teaching in a bid to improve my role as a teacher. I have just recently applied for the 2008 Post Graduate Diploma in Education and am excited at the prospect of entering the teaching world on a full time basis. Ultimately, I would like to teach English at secondary school level, but would be happy working in any classroom environment, be it teaching literature or English as a foreign language.

I feel that a job in any of the language schools in Dublin would only add to my belt of experience. However, as I am currently living in Knockylon, only language schools in the Dublin South vicinity would be of interest to me. If a position were to arise in any of these schools offering a part-time position I would be grateful to hear of it.

Thank you kindly for taking the time out to read this.

Yours sincerely,

Peter J O’Shea
