write a book

Not too long ago I became involved in a group for mystery writers. All the members regularly submit parts of their work for critique. The critiques are very useful (when I can lay my ego aside), but the most useful function of the group is that it gets me to write. I am now at work on a mystery novel that features (or course!) dogs.

All my life has been bound up with writing. Journals, stories, fragments, poems—even and entire novel when I was a teenager. In recent years I’ve been focusing on public speaking and stand-up comedy and most of the writing that I’ve done has been for that kind of performance. My real ambition, though, is to write a book. I’m interested in both non-fiction and novels.
