9th January 2008

8th January 2008

• Being right on time
• Seeing college friends after the holiday
• Getting on with work, and being quite energetic about it for a while.
• My mum packing me gingerbread men.
• Texting Rob
• Coming home and being greeted by my auntie Mel. She has autism and has been in part time care a lot but yesterday she moved into a house that we’ve all been sorting out for her that is hers where she’ll live with various carers some of the time. When I came in she was telling me to come and see her room, which showed she must be happy.
• Showing my mum and sister some of my college work and them saying it was good.
• Later we went to see the house, which I haven’t seen in about a week, when a lot of decorating took place and it looked so lovely. The best thing though was how chuffed Mel was about it.
• I met one of her carers and she was really lovely.
• Talking on the phone to Rob and telling him ups and downs of the day and hopefully having cheered him up by the end of the call.

7th January 2008

• Taking Polaroid’s of my parent’s room in transit.
• Drawing Rob smiling

• Watching Zoo Vet at Large and Animal Park snuggled on the sofa with Rob.
• Taking Sandy for a walk because it was such a surprisingly nice day, and her behaving really well.
• Calling on Nic and her mum saying she was in her work clothes, then her coming down in her pyjamas.
• Watching a cool photography program and texting Rob.

5th January 2008

• Seeing Sarah for a bit, seeing her gorgeous new haircut and getting some lovely presents from her and hearing her being positive.
• Going for a walk to the graveyard and duck pond and Rob saying “It’s okay, I’ve got you” when I was slipping with my silly ballet shoes on.
• Rob giving me a foot massage because I’d got such cold toes on the walk.
• Getting taught a little bit of drums, and having fun with them.
• Rob’s parents being lovely and offering me lifts tomorrow even though they’ll both be busy and things.
• Playing a skate game for the first time and managing to do a jump Rob was trying to show me but couldn’t do again. I was proud!
• Seeing a cartoon in a magazine that I thought was strange then realising it was by David Shrigley who’s the artist we’ve both just discovered a love for.
• Doing an illustration of Amy Winehouse I was quite proud of.

4th January 2008

• Listening to Regina Spektor, probably my favourite singer ever.
• Sitting in to eat fish and chips (or chips and onion rings in our case) which I’ve never done before and sharing my leftovers with Rob.
• A 99p calendar with cute animals to re-make into cute framed pictures for Mel’s house.
• In TK Maxx I was looking for Rob because he’d gone to customer services when I felt someone come up behind me and give me a massive hug and there he was and it made me feel really loved.
• Donkeys!
• Freshly baked bread still warm!
• Singing to Bend It and Rob saying that only me singing it could make him happy.
• Going through some old clothes to send to the charity shop and finding lots of nice scarves that used to be my mama’s that I’ll be able to wear as well as lots of things that just the fabric reminded me of my childhood, which was nice.
• Я люблю вас!
• Writing a little surprise.

3rd January 2008

• Being genuinely surprised to wake up and see snow.
• Toast with butter, simple but brilliant!
• Laughing with my mum about the people in the opticians and the strange people on the TV last night with fake babies.
• Rob was acting sad but I kissed him all over his face and watched as he tried to hide his smile, but as soon as I laughed and smiled he did too, so it made me happy.
• Getting the rabbits out and looking after them, and them being really well behaved and cute.
• Talking about my old rabbit Bonny and how sweet he was when he used to jump around in the conservatory on the sofas and do flips and about how rabbits are so sweet.
• Walking hands held up the road and feeling more Christmassy than any other time because of the snow.
• Lying on the sofa with Rob when I was feeling a bit moody he kissed his finger and put it to my lip and I kissed it back, it really cheered me up.
• On a program we watched about bears there was a guy laying down with them, it was really sweet.
• Looking through some photos from the summer for practical reasons I had lots of memories and was reminded what amazing friends and boyfriend I have to give me such a happy time. I don’t think there’s one photo where I’m not smiling.

• Reading Tasha’s bulletin about the strangeness of people.
• Talking to Aisha about weather she’d like to live alone of with someone else and telling her about how I’m excited to live with Rob.

1st January 2008

I failed with this last year because I got behind with things and took too long catching up. It didn’t mean I didn’t have happy thing though, and it was a worthwhile thing to do so I’ll try again.

Today’s happy things are:
• Knowing that last year was probably my best yet, and this one should be just as good if not better.
• Bringing in the New Year with Rob.
• Looking after Sandy when the fireworks were going.
• Talking to Rob and knowing he felt better after being ill.
• Completing “draw more” and other tasks and writing about it.
• Deciding to quit “get a flat stomach” as it was bad for my self esteem and I generally feel quite good about myself.
• Making resolutions and making positive steps.
• Researching miniature horses and finding there’s a book which includes no verbs which I found amazing.
• Tash telling me her New Years resolution is to write a happy thing each day too.
• Reading some of “A Christmas Carol” and getting into reading again.

29th April

- Rob said he noticed I’d got more confident.
- When he walked me to the train station, Rob hung around on the platform until I’d got a seat, and waved.
- I saw Rabbits on the train journey home.
- I looked through some photos from the weekend and felt proud of them.
- I found an old disposable camera that hadn’t been finished yet so went outside and took the end pictures in the sun.
- I texted Huw about my emergency situation, of an internet break down.
