I just got home from hearing Stephen Hawking talk at Caltech. Of course the place was packed. A friend of a friend got us fantastic seats, so we were in the 5th row and had a great view of him while he was talking. That was interesting, watching him manipulate his computer.
I enjoyed the evening. Our group consisted of some people from work who I am quite fond of. I’m always happy to spend and evening with John and Lynn. So I give the evening an A++ for the talk and the company!

I wasn’t planning on going to a lecture so soon but there was a talk at work that fit into my schedule, so I’m taking advantage and completing this goal for this month. At least I get credit for attending the talk.

This will help this goal get completed. If I go to 6 events in 6 months, I will call this goal complete.

There was a talk at lunchtime that I attended. It was interesting and I am glad I went. I was debating between going to lunch, or back to work, or the talk. Because of this goal, I opted for the talk.
There is another talk tomorrow night that I am going to attend as well. I invited a few friends so that I will be less apt to try and bail.

On “Predicting the success of a Technology-based start-up company Why is it so hard?” It was interesting, and applicable to both my work and my studies. I really enjoy the talks so I am happy that I have this goal.

There is a talk tonight on sand dunes and one tomorrow on technology and business. I would like to attend both talks but that may be a bit ambitious. I have a phone call I have to make for school and I have a class tomorrow, so time may be tight. Let’s see what happens.

I attended a talk at Caltech a few weeks ago about bubbles. It was pretty interesting and I realized that it has been a few years since I took advantage of the events that they offer. I saw a few people from work (no surprise) and a gentleman whom I used to work with (who had retired about 8 years ago). He was looking very good and seemed to be enjoying retirement. Good for him!
Anyway, even though I was tired, I was glad to get out and spend an evening doing something fun and different.
