My thin cousin is going to check out my dresses first, before I give them away. They may fit her…while they haven’t fit my spreading butt for a while :)
Another option for the good clothes is a consignment shop nearby. The dresses aren’t welcome at the career charity as they are too frilly for interviews, so whatever the cousin rejects, I may try to sell. (I AM looking for income…)

I went through almost all the clothes in that back closet…now I have a pile of 1) Winter career clothes, 2) Summer career clothes 3) Clothes to take to Sally Ann’s (Salvation Army).
Also, threw some in the wash to spruce them up (and also because, when I piled them up on the ironing board, I laid them on a can of spray starch which somehow popped its top and soaked the clothes with starch…I needed to wash that sticky starch out.)
The Career Wardrobe website said they need things donated seasonally, so the winter stuff will either have to wait or will go to Sally Ann’s too.
I guess this also falls under “uncluttering” which seems to be an All-American goal (along with “lose weight”). What DOES that say about us????
We have such abundance!

Today, I start sorting and cleaning out a large closet in my spare room, and I will come across (I know) some suits and other clothes that don’t fit, haven’t fit, and are in good shape…I came across this goal wandering about 43things and your testimonies about doing this inspired me to part ways with these excess and non-used clothes.
There are Career Wardrobe sites near me that accept clothes for women returning to the workforce. They will get what would be useful for job hunting & interviews. http://www.careerwardrobe.org/
Thanks to all the prior entries for inspiration!
