I’m taking this 8-week on-day-a-week class which is an introduction to american sign language. We got the notification about it in the mail because my brother, who is 11, is a special needs kiddo, he has multiple issues, but he’s also non-verbal. He knows 2 or 3 signs. So anyway, that is why we got the notice about the class. My mom asked me if I wanted to do it with her, and I’ve always had a fascination with it, so why not take the class?
Even if I could teach Ethan (my brother) one new sign that he could use, it would be worth it.
Now, I’ve become quite interested in this language, ASL. I’d like to eventually become fluent and be able to interpret for people. It’ll take some time, but supposedly there’s a follow-up class to this one, so maybe I’ll get to take that too. Wish me luck.
