My first lesson back has been moved to next week. More practice time!

I have been practicing my song for at least 20 minutes on most days of the past week. I have scheduled another class with my vocal coach for early next week. It is fun again. Hard work though.

I have sent my vocal coach a note of thanks. She is so darn tough and sometimes rude and hurtful and …....

A group of four women were sitting in front of me at Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. One of the women turned around at the end and said my voice was so beautiful and asked if I was professionally trained? She said that sitting in front of me and hearing me sing added to her enjoyment of the evening. OK….hard work….being pushed and a little money make a BIG difference. I am grateful. I will continue this process.

I miss far too many classes to consider this goal finished. I cancel, she cancels, yet I notice improvement. I have a new song to work on and I love it. She has me working on “Show Me” from “My Fair Lady”. It is a wonderfully angry song. It’s fun! I did step out in fear, trembling fear, and sang a solo, a capella, at 8:15 in the morning at the retreat I just went to this past week-end. I was so scared. People cried, I felt accomplished. Thank you my friend vocal coach.

My teacher had to cancel on me today and I was even prepared. LOL I did my homework. Oh well, I will be more than ready in two weeks.

This is really hard work!!! There are so many things to be aware of. It is not just about “the voice”. The whole body is involved and has to be tuned and toned. Crunches for the core and neck exercises to help remember to not let my neck fall in on itself. One hour of very HARD work. Much awareness homework. I’m thrilled!!! Really truly! I’m happy to be giving myself this gift.

I really enjoyed doing this last year. I was surprised at how much I improved in 5 1/2 hour lessons. I want to make this important again.
