learn german

... because I am content with my current level of German at the moment. If I ever change my mind I suppose I’ll create a goal to “improve my German”

I got the mark back for a translation from German to english I did. 66%. That’s my best grade so far for translation and I was definately up there with the better grades for this piece of work.
So when we got given another one today (due in two weeks) I ploughed into it straight away and I’ve finished my first draft.
We had a listening comprehension today that was really hard and we have dictation tomorrow.
Mum’s agreed to send me money tomorrow in place of an Easter present (as I’m allergic to Easter Eggs) so I will buy a German novel a friend of mine recommended to me.

Yesterday I sat in the languages foyer at Uni and read from the Spiegel for nearly an hour. I did some preparation for the oral class and it would seem I was the only one to prepare, so I got to do lots of talking explaining things to people about bird flu in German.

Today a german friend helped me with my grammar homework and found me this website: http://www.canoo.net/services/Search/ueberblick/index.html?MenuId=Search it has loads of great stuff, but it’s in German so you have to be reasonably proficient already to use it.
I prefer learning grammar through the language of German now.

I’m studying German at Uni, I spent a year out there and spend a lot of time listening to German music, watching German films and emailing friends in German.
After a year there I’m quite fluent but there are still words I don’t know. I don’t think I will ever stop learning German.
