I got the place at Leeds Uni! I am now there and having fun learning.

on Monday I went for a job interview. I thought I interviewed terribly. I didn’t expect to get the job. It’s a admin type job that would use my German skills a little, but no maths. I’d get £16,500 a year, 21 days holiday, a pension fund after 3 months, a pay revue in 3 months, but no sick pay. I had a phone call this afternoon about an hour after submitting my application to Uni for the masters course to say that the job was mine if I wanted it. I asked for more time to think.
The course started on Monday, so even if I do get on it I’m behind already. I’ve never been to Leeds properly so I have no idea what it’s like. I’d really like to do the course. But I guess I could do it next year, but will I want to go back to Uni after a year away? I’ll be better off finacially by next year, but also possibly bored out of my mind after living in a tiny village with my parents in the middle of nowhere.
I hate these kind of decisions.
I finally got hold of two lecturers on the phone who agreed to write me references.
I posted my certificates.
I submitted the online application form.
Now I just have to wait.
I have a form for accommodation waiting to be sent as soon as I get approved.
I also have to speak to the bank and see about trying to get funding.
I am applying for a Master of Science in Computational Fluid Dynamics at Leeds University. My application is amazingly late as term started on Monday, but there is a space and I have been told there is a ray of hope. Now I just need all the luck in the world…
I graduated this summer. I then went to Germany for the summer to work. I got back at the weekend and don’t know what to do now.
I hoped to work in Germany for the company I worked for during my year abroad, but those plans have been shot to dust.
I am really interested in fluid dynamics. I’ve never done computational fluid dynamics, but I’d love to get into it and find out what it’s all about.
I’ve just emailled my old tutor for advice. Hopefully he can give me a few pointers.
