become a music journalist

I write for Buzzgrinder.com on an almost-daily basis. An album review I wrote for Ghettoblaster is included in their most recent print release, and there is some interest in having me do more significant work for them in the future.

I haven’t been paid for any work yet, but I think the occasional free CD, the ability to get press passes to shows and other random perks are enough for now.

Cross this one off the list. :)

Officially writing for the main Buzzgrinder site now. I suppose I should start figuring out where the line is drawn on when this goal is completed or not, huh?

I’ve had my own music blog for a while, but Seth from Buzzgrinder has me writing on the California Buzzgrinder site. I wrote reviews of the three days I spent at Coachella:

It’s a start, right?

I don’t need to be a renowned music critic for the New York Times, or even write reviews for Pitchfork Media. I just want to be able to write about music and have people listen to what I have to say. I find joy in helping people find music they love because, apparently, a great number of people don’t even know where to look.
