I wanted to learn Pilates, but so far all I have down is the basic warm-up stretching. It’s similar to what I did when I swam competitively, only Pilates style. I haven’t evolved to the real Pilates yet, but I’ve been consistently (and properly) stretching every day. After carrying an infant in a Snugly, I feel like I need to stretch. I feel like I have more balance and confidence in my steps as well. And hopefully this will be the first winter I lose weight instead of gaining it.

I’m not going to count yesterday because I didn’t finish. After having my third baby, constantly carrying a stroller/carseat/infant up and down stairs, and the Snugli I just bought, my hips and back started to hurt and crunch. I thought I was going to have to go back to physio. My pilates book has a warmup/cooldown stretch routine that is amazing. It has only 10 steps to remember, so once I get it memorized it should be easier to remember to do every day. It only takes about 2 minutes, and my hips feel so much better right now. Time to sit in a hot tub and go to bed. I see my goal of doing real pilates becoming that much easier.
