where I have access to wisdom from many different cultures and traditions.
I can read, in translations into my own tongue, books originally written in Chinese, Hebrew, Sanskrit, Pali, Arabic, Aramaic, and Greek.
Not only can I take a yoga class, I have a plethora of yoga classes to choose from, from different traditions, in different locations and at different times. I could take a yoga class at 4:00 or at 4:30 or at 5:00 or at 5:15 or at 5:30 or at 6:00 or at 6:30 at different studios, all somewhere between my workplace and home, if I so chose.

I live in the modern, developed world, where, after I pedal home from work, my husband broils a tenderloin steak, asparagas is flown in in the fall from south america, & potatoes take 15 minutes in the microwave; where hot water is freely available and I can shower as long as I’d like, & then there’s a nice clean fluffy pink towel to dry off my body & another towel just for hair; and then I can put on a clean nightie & know that I’ll sleep securely in a comfy warm bed.

I started this, and I’m keeping my results to myself until you tell me what you notice. Get a pack of thank you cards and keep them on your bedside table. Write one out each night until the pack is empty. (it’s even better if you mail/deliver it).
should I take this on?

I read my old entries from the winter: “light sucking dark”, cold, wet, snow…
It’s sunny, it’s warm, things are green, the days are long – it’s summer. What’s not to like?

Grateful for
Ice cream. Really, is there anything more sublime after a bicycle ride in the sunshine? Contains carbs and protein, and is cool and creamy…one of the great inventions of humankind.
My husband – a stellar tandem captain
Good health that allows me to ride ride ride.
Summer sunshine, with a few cool breezes just so it isn’t too hot.
Living in such a beautiful part of the country.

Today I am grateful that
- I found the maggots in the cat food before they hatched into flies
- the next door neighbor is coming home, so his dogs will be happy and not howling all night
- I don’t have to work a full day; I can come home early and take a nap to make up for lost sleep
- Emma thinks she can manage to bring her F grade in biology up to a C if she does extra credit

Here it is:
This indeed has been a good life for you, Claire. You have faced your false personality squarely and in effect said, “this is not me and I will not let you interfere.”
You have not been conscious of doing this, but have, even so. You brought into your maturity the ability to stand alone when necessary, and the ability to bend when necessary. This has resulted in a life that seems to you to have been relatively free of discomfort. Even those milestones that would have counted as boulders for another have been less traumatic for you.
This life was chosen as it is an experience of being where you needed to be when you needed to be there….The results have been a steady evolution of the spirit, a lifetime of walking in closeness to the Essence.
I am grateful to have received this message, and found it more than reassuring – really, life affirming. That I am doing the right thing, I am in the right place, this life so far has been more than positive – rather, how can I put this right – far-reaching in pushing away what needed to be cleared.
Gratitude gratitude gratitude!

Another pull
Sunny spring weather brings out the cyclists, and yesterday I got another nice pull from a blonde in a ponytail with a 2006 STP jacket, on a silver cannondale, after returning the favor.
Less likely to get pulls today – it’s raining!
