I’m starting to see some real results; I want to measure myself for before/after comparisons. My jeans fit better, I have WAY more energy, and I’m much less self-conscious. Even though I haven’t hit my target, knowing that I’m doing something pro-active to get to where I want to be is changing everything.
It’s taken a little longer than some crash diet b/c I’m trying to do everything right so that I can stay fit and be healthy. I calculated my necessary caloric intake and cut it by about 500 calories. I exercise for 30 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the afternoon depending on how I feel and how much time I have.
I’m getting even more motivated now. This is petty exciting!

Yeah, I know. For shame. But it was a fabulous break! :-D
Unfortunately, I ate too much and did absolutely
NOTHING, so now I feel blah. I’m back on track, though:
- I jog/ride a bike every morning for 30 minutes
- Eat breakfast (oatmeal with strawberries = YUM)
- Drink tons of water
- No eating out (except on Saturdays)
Now if I can keep this up until at least Valentine’s Day I know I’ll feel about 120% better.

I was so dissapointed last semester when the only kickboxing class offered was during a class that couldn’t be rescheduled. Fortunately for me, I’m now able to take a kickboxing class every Thursday, I just have to work up a little extra motivation to get me there every week.

I’m halfway through my goal, and I think that I’ve been doing very well. I’ve slipped a couple of times and indulged outside of my “junk food day”, but such is life.
The best habit that I’ve formed (outside of going to the gym, of course) is probably that I eat several very small meals throughout the day. I only eat small portions whenever I get hungry and I actually end up eating much less than if I make myself wait for lunch or dinner.

So I’m definitely not in the shape I used to be! Tuesday I did the same arm workout I used to and… ouch, am I ever sore today.
In fact I’m going to have an interesting time in dance class tonight, I’m sure. I have to dance with a partner and I can’t lift my right arm!

I’ve been doing well in terms of my goals. I make it to the gym every morning at around 6:30am (I have to go immediately after they open because it seems the cleanest then; I despise gyms and their staph bacteria…)
I’ve been eating well (even cooking! woohoo, excitement all around) although admittedly eating larger portions, which always happens when I start getting active. My metabolism will chill out, though, so long as I stick to my goals. Well, hopefully at least…

Because I hate ambiguity, I’ll define what I mean by ‘get in shape’ :
- Eat well (read: home-cooked, healthy, whole foods) 6 days a week. No junk food mid-week!
- Exercise 6 days a week
- Continue for at least 1 month
Baby steps.
