Skydive

I had a long look at my finances yesterday and did my budget. I’ve come to the conclusion that although I really want to do this one, at the moment it’s more important to finish paying off everything I owe. Perhaps I can do it next spring as a celebration of having got out of debt. I am not in serious debt, but the longer you’re in debt the more it costs you, so it makes sense to tighten my belt and sacrifice some of the luxuries for a while.

I need to ring the jump centre, which can be difficult as I have hearing loss and need to use my textphone. I’ll try calling tomorrow.

Made an enquiry with the parachute centre about a date! If I get the right date, I will be doinghe Windmill Run on 23rd and then the jump on 25th! So it’ll be an eventful month for me!

I have provisionally booked the day off from work. After I’ve booked it I will get K to book a day off, too, so I can have some moral support!

...is when I might do my skydive. I need to talk to my other half, and to work to possibly get the day off, then I need to book it. It’s £155, but hey, it’s a once in a lifetime thing, right?

Well, it’s still only February and far too cold and windy to do this just yet. But I am going to start putting a few pounds into a pot so I can rise the money I need for this to do it in the summer. I’ve got a DVD from them which I will try to watch today.

My life’s got so boring and humdrum, I really feel the need to do something mad to shake myself out of it.

Hmmm. I spoke to Kt about this and she reckons she’d like to do this as well, but doesn’t think she can afford it yet. Some people from my online group are interested. The brochure arrived on Saturday, but it seems to be more than £155, so I’m going to query why this is before I book it. I am gonna book it. You only do this once! (or more, if you really like it, but I want to be able to say I’ve done this at least once!)

I’ve found a place that does tandem jumps from £155. I’m sorely tempted. I’ve got them to send me a brochure!
