I’m sleeping better and I don’t feel so tired at the end of the day. I don’t regret this for a minute. Well worth doing. Also gets rid of a major source of my sugar consumption.

I know I’ve only been doing this one a week, but I’m going to close it. It’s been so easy to give it up after the first couple of days, I’m sure I’m not going to go back to it. I love drinking squash at my desk and I don’t miss it at all. I think I’ve broken the habit.
For the record, I don’t know whether it’s drinking less caffeine or eating less sugar or a combination of the two, but I feel great overall, and I’m sleeping much better.
Still no coffee and I’m really proud of myself. Claire got me one this morning but this time I didn’t even wait for it to go cold, I just picked it up and dumped it down the sink and got a couple of cups of water instead. This one seems to be quite easy. I’m not missing it.
No coffee today. I told KT today about my deciding not to drink it any more. She said she was relieved, as I’ve had stomach problems (acid indigestion) in the last week and she was getting worried that coffee might not be helping.
Our temporary lodger drinks a cafetiere full of coffee every morning before she starts her day. She has a couple of cigarettes at the same time. Just waking up in the morning and smelling it makes me feel a bit gyppy. I could never have coffee first thing in the morning – I have to have my cup of tea.
I am doing really well on this. Since I decided to stop drinking the evil brew, I think I have fallen off the wagon maybe twice. I had one this morning but it didn’t have any sugar in it, and since then I’ve been drinking low-sugar squash at my desk, which is better for me anyway. I don’tmiss it. It’s foul stuff, I only drink it out of habit.
I haven’t had a coffee since Wednesday, when I started my 43 things. I was tempted this morning when Paul put one on my desk, but I managed to ignore it and let it go cold. I’m drinking squash instead – lots more water and lots less sugar (I’m drinking a no-added-sugar variety…)
