Boy, it’s hard going sometimes. The thing is, C is not actually all that hard if you’ve studied BASIC, but parts of it are exceedingly boring, then you suddenly “get” something and get that warm glow from having understood…
Better programemrs may sneer at me for starting with something as old and bettered as C, but I think I need to learn to walk before I try to run. (Or is that “I need to compile before I try to run”? Ha ha. Programmer humour.)

Still doing this, and little by little I’m starting to understand it better.

I decided to start a bit simpler – with “C For Dummies”. I’m already starting to get a handle on it, but then it’s a bit easier than it would be for a complete beginner because in my hazy youth I used to know quite a lot aobut BASIC. C isn’t so very far from that.
Hopefully after than I can improve by learning C++, and then shudder .NET. I wanna learn that, because it’s what the developers program in where I work.

I started learning C++ a few months ago, then tailed off. work is getting pretty boring, so I’m going to have another go at this. I think I still have Dev C++ on my machine…
