For anyone with a motorcycle licence who doesn’t want to spend hundreds of pounds on learning to drive, here’s what I did; I bought a Reliant 3 wheeler and drove myself about in that. They are classed as a tricycle but they are, to all intents and purposes, a car. I drove it for a year, then bought a Fiesta and took my test in it. It saved me hundreds of pounds, I passed 2nd time, and I was not nervous because by then I was an experienced driver. I actually got quite attached to my little Rialto, but moving up to a proper car was a revelation. Heaters that work! Head rests! A radio in the car!
It’s well worth learning to drive – anyone in the Crawley area, I can recommend a very good teacher. I had a few lessons to knock out the bad habits and taught myself the correct observations etc from a government book about the test.
