I’ve been taking a ton of measures to improve my cholesterol, and the doctor said it was a miracle that I lowered it 20 points in a month.
But I haven’t had a blood test since my last one. And this is the most important goal on my list. I worry so much about this… I fear that I’ll just drop dead of a heart attack any day now.
Despite measures, I’m pretty sure its mostly hereditary. I really really really do not want to go on drugs for this.

I just got my results from the retest, and my cholesterol is 282.
This is both good and bad. Good because my cholesterol is going down from the 300 it was last month. Bad because it is still very high.
I’m doing a ton as it is. I jog 2 hours 5 days a week. I’ve cut red meat out of my diet. I haven’t touched mayo. I know that it’s hereditary, but I thought I could be strong enough to control it with a diet change. I don’t know…. I’m feeling a bit down on the issue. Comments and cheers are very much appreciated right now, thanks.

High cholesterol is in my genes.
Last year, at 18, my cholesterol was 213.
This year, at 19, my latest test said my cholesterol had reached a whopping 300! The doctor said this is most likely inaccurate, since I haven’t been eating 10 big macs a day, and I am going back in a month to retest.
But either way, I am now consciously tackling my cholesterol. My goal is at least 190.
I am walking for 2 hours, 5 days a week. During the weekend I am still active with friends, but don’t set goals. I am trying the cheerios challenge, eating cheerios for breakfast and later in the day. I have cut out red meat almost entirely (My family went to texas de brazil a week ago, so I caved a little then, and I accidentally had ground beef in what I thought was vegetarian pasta at a family get-together, but other than that I’m clean), and started a multivitamin.
Hopefully these measures will help. We’ll see next month.
