I work as a Corpsman in the Navy, with EMT-B qualifications, and I’ve been doing the job for four years. I feel like I haven’t accomplished much because I joined the Navy to save lives, and to make something noble out of myself, but I’ve worked in administrative or training positions my entire career. I don’t even have a legitimate deployment under my belt.
I sort of feel that the training I received isn’t being put to use at all, but I get out in less than a year, so I’ll probably be working for my home EMS and that will change things. Who knows, a lot can happen in a year. Maybe all the training will come in handy for someone.
