Organize my home

Sad to note my departure into spring cleaning was so long ago…however I’m finally in the home stretch. For the moment it looks worse then it is as the Salvation Army doesn’t pick up the old couch, chair, chest of drawers & microwave until tomorrow. While the painters are in painting the balcony today, ergo all balcony furniture is also stacked up in my bedroom.

Above and beyond all that, all closets except for small linen closet (buying closet organizer today) are clean, organized and everything has a home. Bathroom is clean and organized, right now housing a few boxes that I couldn’t get into storage last night. Kitchen is clean, organized, everything has a home – except for the fridge. Essentially I have 3 things left to do:

1) clean fridge.
2) organize linen closet – which will clear most of the stuff off the dining room table.
3) find a home for anything left on my bed.

Then I’m done! I’m actually done! It was hard, not giving up and just shoving things somewhere. To find a logical home for everything or toss it. Looking fwd to see how easy it is to keep everything in order!

It has truly begun. It has only begun but so far 3 bags of clothing to the Sally Ann, 2 boxes of books to storage, 3 boxes of books to used books stores (ok that hasn’t happened yet they are still @ my front door). 2 boxes of old dishes to free table in laundry room. New dishes put away. Old patio furniture gone. New patio furniture set up on patio, beautiful. Chest of drawers cleaned out all but the top drawer which isn’t clothing…it’s all makeup and memories.

It’s been a good 1st step. Took last night off to watch Heroes and sleep. Tonight is dinner w/Eng, mahjong & the last Gilmore Girls ever. Tomorrow night back @ it. I’m kind of looking forward to it. :)

Oh and I’m not bothering to count the # of bags of garbage or recycle. It’s just too depressing. :)

Oh I am pumped for the spring cleaning. I’ve replaced my flat ware. I’m adding shelves to my cleaning closet for more storage space. I’ve picked out new patio furniture, and a new dresser.

But the best of all is I have a plan to ruthlessly go through everything. DeCluttering is in effect!!!!!!!!!!

My house is pretty clean. Now is the time to reorginize. I have too much stuff. I don’t wear 1/2 my clothes or use 1/2 my stuff. It’s ridiculous.

Goal this week: clean out my dresser and move my make up and stuff to my desk.
