After having just a little luck with Ryze.com to attract an attendee to an event that I was running and just making a few connections at a Ryze social mixer, I found LinkedIn.com much better, in comparison.

LinkedIn.com is Ryze on steroids (without the rage). Try it, but remember you will not be able to find people until you’ve built up your own network. Then your web of links will reach out to many currently known and unknown (to you) people.

LinkedIn, a professional-networking tool, helps you find out who your friends and contacts know (and who their contacts know) and lets you ask for an introduction. LinkedIn keeps the chain private; you see only your primary connections and the ultimate connections you want to make, not the people in between.
