Don’t know what is holding me back. Actually, since I am hardly ever in a car it is kind of scary. And quite frankly it is an expense that I can do with out.
Postponing this goal for a while. I’ll do it some day. Need to be able to afford it, and not be afraid of it.

Some progress, not much, did make the call to the DOL and found out that yes, I do need to get a permit to practice driving.
I set a goal to go get it tomorrow, but health issues are getting in the way—not to mention that I don’t feel confident that I have learned enough from the drivers manual to get the permit. Then what about my eyes, I am constantly switching back and forth between wearing my glasses and taking them off. I recognize that these are trivial excuses and that makes me wonder what is standing in my way. Why am I reluctant, why don’t I care more about this; fear of failing, not really wanting to drive, fear of getting mutilated in a car accident, the exorbitant cost of car ownership, some latent reason? I don’t know, but I am letting this issue make me feel like a failure.
I almost clicked on the “I give up” link, but I can’t I need to do this. How do I move from need to want?
Ok, I know action shoos away the blues so I am going to look up how far I need to park from a fire hydrant, and driveways…
•<12 inches from the curb
•5 feet from driveway, ally
•15 feet from a fire hydrant
•20 feet from a pedestrian safety zone (What in the world is a pedestrian safety zone)
•20 feet from fire station on the same side of the street as the station
•30 feet from a traffic signal
•75 feet from the fire station the opposite side of the street
Ok, maybe I will be able to make it to get my permit in the afternoon tomorrow.

Being a middle aged adult who hasn’t driven in over 20 years I am a little leary. Want to have four weekends to practice driving and learn what I need to to pass the written part.
I don’t know if as an adult in WA, if I have to get a learners permit to practice driving. Need to figure that out
