Had a good run. It was very cold upon check in but after a fun warm up to bouncy music I was pumped up. Time was slower than I expected but results are okay. 16/93 in my age group; 107/823 out of women; 533/1842 overall. Time was 42:20.
Now that I know the hill course I can train better next year and try to get under 35 min. Was not my PB. -jack
Started “liver cleansing diet” last friday on Janey’s recommendation. www.liverdoctor.com. Working well so far. Feeling happy i’m doing something good for my body. Missing chips and popcorn though.
Want to get down to 129 again by Victoria Day for races. Discovered organic V8 juice w beets. Heavenly. – jack
Did 9k on the trails Sunday. +6 with some drizzle but warm once we got going. Much much yoga and tried new “yoga for runners” at Queen W. downward dog. wwww.yogaforrunners.ca Feeling well stretched out. Commuting to work full time again. Yee haw! Saves nine bucks-a-day on parking. ;) Charging hills and getting pumped for Saturday’s “Harry Rosen 8k High Park Run.” Doing it with colleauges and friends as a “team.” Have never done a team thang b’fore. Should be fun. Route is supposed to be hilly which suits my style. will do a little run and yoga both wed and thurs. good friday off. – jack
run w the beach running room group thanks to Jane. Even though I was under-rested, I hooked up at 8am and did 13K hills/flat 1/10 run. First time i had run w/o music too. Jane and I talked the ENTIRE run. Too much… My mind/tongue is all-a-flutter when I run like that. Jane treated brunch at her place w same menu as last wknd. Yoga is giving me the body I need to win. Can’t get enough of it.
Did 15k slow pace run w Jane on snow packed trails in the sun. very spring like and uplifting. we both felt light and confident. has yummy brunch afterwards of grapefruit, eggs and tea. Jane says pineapple cuts body fat. Will try as I want to lose another 6-7 lbs for race season. J
Great swim and run with Janey this a.m. at 630. Back in the pool again folks. Gosh, it’s dreary. The tops of my arms were very sore.

Reaching in vain for verdant days…I was able to find some brush and the lake on my 10k run around the club and down the spit. Viewed two swans and a duck. Wanted more. Found a hole that maybe a critter lived in but too impatient to wait today. Cheeks were a little white with cold but thawed and glowed shortly thereafter. Felt so good to stretch it out on a long run again. Was over-dressed but the temp began to drop at 9k so I was glad I was prepared today. Vigorous Yoga Mon at 6:30pm to lengthen hams and lower back. Will try to set up the indoor trainer after dinner. -jax
Did a commuter ride to the business bookstore downtown and back and was frustrated by pollution and red lights. Has it really been that long? Will stick to trail riding and St. John Sideroad for anything serious. :(
