It does not host any tutorials but links to a few, I will read the 20 pages introduction on the ibm page to begin with. The rational rose I beliwve was one of the first uml-tools around and i like tracing back technologies to their origins.

I come from functional programming background and learnt to draw jsp-diagrams way back, havent used it much and it is also quite limited to just program flow.
I want to add at least some basic knowledge to be able to properly read and use them correctly in the specification phase for system overviews.
Ive been asking my employer to let me attend a course but its not going to happen, so ill check free online resources to start with.
