01/01/09 .... no wait, that's 01/01/10! 4 days ago

1 – No hangover!

2 – Busy day at work, but because there were still at least 1.5 thousand less people than the few days before, it felt nice and easy.

3 – C seemed happy because he’d had a productive day at home.

31/12/09 4 days ago

1 – My flatmate R bought Wii Sports Resort – I particularly enjoyed playing the sword fighting game

2 – Although I was tired and had to work the next day, I went to a work colleague’s New Year’s Eve house party, mostly so that C would go. It was nice though because quite a lot of people I get on well with were there, we managed to get taxis both ways, and not drinking much meant no hangover!

3 – Pop Tarts.

22/11/09 - 29/11/09 1 week ago

I went home to visit my family over Christmas so popping on the computer wasn’t a priority. But these are some of the things that made me happy in the last week:

1 – Seeing all my family, even if they weren’t all around at the same time

2 – Not having to work for a few days

3 – Going out on Christmas Eve and seeing a bunch of my old school friends. We’re not all great friends anymore, after all it has been over 8 years since we finished school! Still, we always seem to fall easily back into conversation and having a good time.

4 – I didn’t leave all the shopping until the complete last minute this year. I even got all the wrapping done a few days before Christmas.

5 – Seeing pictures of the house my brother and his wife have bought. They’re moving in next month and it looks really lovely. I can’t wait to go down and visit.

6 – There were lots of other little things too, that I can’t remember right now.

I know I’m supposed to only talk about happy things here, but I have to say I’m feeling low. Maybe it’s post-Christmas blues, or having to go back to work, or simply that I’m sleeping too much and wasting most of my days in bed. I hope it passes, but I’m going to start trying to get up a little earlier so I don’t feel so useless and wasteful.

1 – Actually got to sleep in for the first time in days.

2 – I went to the Winter Wonderland and German Market in the city centre gardens with C, N, and LLD. Ate a steak burger, and some hog roast, drank hot chocolate, and went ice skating – I did some spins for the first time ever!

3 – When we came home we waited for R and then played “Articulate” that LLD just bought us as a thank you for letting her stay in our flat for a while. Fun.

1 – I won a bunch of gold stars, and a special lanyard at work for my efforts selling gift vouchers, upselling VIP seating, and being generally great! Do I feel happy, or patronised, or a bit of both?

2 – I managed to get my flatmates to watch “The Proposal” with me (they’re men)

3 – We went out to the pub and dancing to celebrate LLD’s birthday. We were out till 5am and kept our Santa hats on most of that time. Had a great time.

1 – Done with uni for the year – Yaaaaay!!!!!! (I had my last exam today)

2 – It’s been cold, and even snowing. It finally feels like Winter, and maybe, just maybe, a little Christmassy.

3 – Once again I actually had a chat with a couple of other people on my course

(4 – Funny story. The cinema I work at is linked to another in the city, and in the last few days both sites had a gentleman purchase 6 individual tickets for different showings of the same performance – very shifty. So they called in the copyrite protection people to sit in on a performance and make sure he wasn’t recording anything. It was so early that there was only him plus the six FACT guys in the audience. Anyway they didn’t see anything but they confronted him at the end of the film about it …. Turns out he was an independent audience reaction monitor!

All through that film he was watching the FACT guys, and they were watching him, and no one in the screen was watching the film.

Lol. Yep that’s about as funny as a cinema gets)
(Not sure if I’m supposed to talk about stuff like this – if you work for FACT don’t get me in trouble)

1 – I handed in my VA essay this morning, and on time!! Ok I had to stay up all night to finish it, as I have really been struggling with this one, but it’s done. This means I got all 4 of my essays in on time this semester – no mark reductions!

2 – 3 days left of the term. I’m going to make it through! Which means that I have got one term further than I did the first time I went to uni. Which means I’m not the same person. Which means we are not doomed to always repeat ourselves! Things can change!! – Isn’t that great?

3 – The joyous use of exclamation marks!!!!

13/12/09 3 weeks ago

1 – I’ve got up to 1473 words of a 2000-2500 word essay due the day after tomorrow! This essay has been killing me, but now I have a structure – woooo!!

2 – C has been really lovely, making me dinner, and bringing me lots of tea and chocolate cake.

3 – Only 5 days of the semester left – la la la la la…

12/12/09 3 weeks ago

1 – Organising a few Christmas presents, and giving my family some ideas for me

2 – I’m still getting up, showering, doing the wash, and making meals and things – this makes me happy as it means I’m still moderately functioning – I am not curled up and freaked out with my head buried under the covers as has been the case many times in the past when uni has stressed me out too much

3 – Getting a little bit of my final VA essay done, even though I hate it, and just cannot find an argument to thread through!!

07/12/09 4 weeks ago

1 – I had a nice walk around Holyrood park while I was waiting to go to my AT exam – it was lovely like a little bit of fresh countryside right in the middle of the city. I must make an effort to visit more often perhaps for some training runs for the half marathon next Spring?

2 – I had done at least some revision and preparation for my exam so I didn’t have that horrible, horrible moment when you look at the question sheet and can’t see any questions that you can answer.

3 – There was a “buddy” meeting at work that was mostly called as we’ed been given a bunch of money to spend on a meal together. Free food!! We all stuffed ourselves with starters, mains, and desserts, so that C and I practically had to roll each other home!
